We had the honour of showing Chris Jones @jonesch56591 around our 'So We Marched' exhibition last week. As the official March paramedic, the trainee nurse was a key member of the Green Army. In his interview, he reflected on how his fellow Marchers ignored his medical advice 🤣

Best-ever season? Wba have won the title, won the FA Cup several times, played in European competitions, and they come out with this? This is what happens when people new to football talk about football.
It was an honour to show Kirby icons Alan and Dave Kelly around our exhibition. Alongside the legendary Tony Boyle, the two bros played a key role in establishing the Kirkby Unemployed Centre; which was formed in the wake of the March. We explore the KUC in our 'Legacy' board.
Another Marcher has sadly left us. Brothers Ray & Gary joined the Green Army together & continued to participate in activism long after the March had ended. In honour of Ray, here's a quote from Gary fondly reminiscing about their experience in 81. You'll Never Walk Alone ✊️

Moments like these are why I work as a community historian. The excitement of knowing that both Pete and Sully were finally going to meet after 4 decades was almost too much to bare 🙃

As part of our launch, attendees saw the premiere of our exhibition film, which uses found footage, oral testimonies and archival images unearthed by our volunteers during their research. Here's the short for your viewing pleasure: vimeo.com/913634001
@SylRog97 @GizaJob81 @GreigDr Very moving as one of the Marchers and great to meet you all. Thanks so much Greig for this project.
The story of the marchers is being brought to life in a fascinating new exhibition by @GreigDr and @GizaJob81 - which opens at Liverpool Central Library tomorrow
‘We were devoid of hope, so we marched’ In 1981, 500 jobless people set off on a four week March from Liverpool to London to protest against the policies of Margaret Thatcher’s government This is their story 👇 liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool…

Went to see the @GizaJob81 exhibition @Lpoolcentlib yesterday. The exhibition “tells the story of the 1981 People’s March for Jobs, a historic right-to-work protest spearheaded by unemployed people”. An important project exploring local, working class history. 🪧
