@EamonRyan Move the port out of the city. It's a state company. So this decision is the governments. It's called cathedral building starting a project that will be completed in this case after current gvt have left politics. The state land can be developed for housing etc. Prob cost neutral

@EoinMcGee Simple question. The concensus seems that rent charged by a landlord should cover the mortgage. Has this always been the agreed belief? Or as the landlord will prob sell, get a return on the investment, not have to contribute to their investment by covering part of the mortgage.

@RayMcAdam there were also teenagers who were drunk, one almost to the point of complete unconsciousness. no guards to be seen except around the corner there was a Guarda van with about a half a dozen guards sitting inside it, they should have been out making their presence felt. 2
@RayMcAdam An evening in the runup to Christmas last I sat at a coffee shop in Temple Bar, about 6:30 p.m. 95% of people were enjoying themselves, there were a number of individuals who were drunk, high on some other substance or just nasty in nature causing problems, intimidating people. 1
