#Genesis 25:27-34 Isaac gets the birthright I think this is among the worst famous stories in the entire Bible. It gets lumped in with the “Jacob as trickster” motif, but there’s no trickery here. It’s just extortion, and it makes Jacob look like a total jerk.

Hopefully, this doesn't sound too cynical, but I'd much rather have a study Bible that focuses on actually how to read the Bible rather than one that uses the Bible as a springboard to talk about conservative Christian apologetics.
