@PVarmdo @draper_rob @Secul8r They knew investigations and audits were coming and the timeline of events and emails to disguise funding and hide payment routes just makes this a tough one for City to turn over imo. We still don’t know the details of judgement though. So we’ll see. My opinion could be off

@PVarmdo @draper_rob @Secul8r European carriers were making the same legal threats. At the same time UEFA FFP kicked off in 2010/2011. 2 regulatory headaches and it seems ADUG P&L was the turnstile to resolve state funding contradiction that would have led to catastrophic penalties by US and EU authorities.

@PVarmdo @draper_rob @Secul8r Money couldn’t have moved from CPC to Etihad because that would prove state funding in the open skies airlines dispute so they had to run it through (open skies agreement signed in 2002). So they had to run funds through ADUG as partner funding (for Etihad sponsorship to city)

@PVarmdo @draper_rob @Secul8r Very good points. The only problem I see here is, If SOE’s get funding and top ups for marketing etc from the CPC and other state institutions, why would Etihad need this money routed through ADUG for City? Answer is in Etihad vs US govt. And the need to hide payment routes.

@DamianHastie @Waldo_xtc How do they get around Related Parties Test because that’s something the PL can bring up in court vs Etihad in their defence. If City declare these funds from EEA, it triggers RTP. So there was motive. There’s evidence Etihad knew arrangements and colluded.

@DamianHastie @Waldo_xtc Then it’s not looking good for City at all. Also on the sham issue. It’s obvious that they’d need more than just emails so I reckon I was the witness testimonies that did it. City’s problem there is that witnesses can’t be recalled. Just guessing

@DamianHastie @Waldo_xtc If City get relegated, Etihad is suing. Doubt they win though. We’ve only seen the report and I find it difficult to believe 3 of the very best KC’s use sham without meeting requirements. It’s inconceivable. After years of deliberating, there has to be no grey areas for that .

@DamianHastie The UAE and City can still save face and cut heads etc, do the full PR thing. There’s a way back. The geopolitics issue, agreements are bilateral. Benefits on both sides. Eventually that can be repaired. What can’t be is fan perception and sentiment of a captured league

@DamianHastie I think fan and media perception and sentiment, if this was settlement, would damage league and its integrity because they’d say your biggest export has been captured and bought. If PL stick to its guns and reform and centralise, that win is bigger than the political fall out.

@thedooosh @DamianHastie @hlord1408 @themagic_tophat MCFC would be right but it seems witness testimony didn’t hold, no contemporaneous financial or accounting records showing official CPC grant applications, state budget approvals, documented treasury transfers matching sponsorship obligations, IC state. Those are avenues.

@DamianHastie @thedooosh @hlord1408 @themagic_tophat If the lines are this blurred, I don’t know this meets sham standard just with what we know. IC must have some genuinely damning evidence beyond witness testimonies. To go that hard with sham it would have to be very clear and not grey.

@DamianHastie @waltzwalton Why didn’t they call Hogan? Or someone from Etihad? Can they do that now at appeal?

@deep3lue @TelegraphDucker @Lawton_Times @MikeKeegan_DM They did. It was rejected. IC said their reasons were concocted after the fact.

@xyxyzebra @tbpn @garrytan Exactly. He’s also completely ignoring the fact that public pressure is necessary otherwise these labs wouldn’t care about care about what he’s talking as it has just been proven with Open AI and their passiveness with the hugging face incident.

@HotNewHipHop lol it’s even worse now that the guy got a chain, he’s got no objectivity. His thought process is Drake Drake Drake. On this subject, there is zero objectivity. Credibility is compromised.
