15 more installers seen the light! no more wanky S&Y plans, boilers that finally manage to condense, systems the work without room stats or control by TRV, flow finally going only in the right place & controls to optimize it all. As always a great 2 days sussing the wet stuff.

4 year old Viessmann 100 combi. Runs on opentherm load compensation on a properly balanced system, so condenses buckets. And it shows when you look inside and it’s as clean as a whistle. No deposits, no buildup. Balancing and the right control strategy makes a big difference
Cant beat a Scouts hut for a venue. Exeter is the Venue today for 2 days thrashing out the wet stuff - PDHW flow - pipe sizing separation balancing and of course low temp systems and what they are all about .
Another amazing very high tech training room at Octillion training in Uxbridge. Today begins two more days of understanding how the wet stuff works for those installers coming over from the dark side. Its all about flow. Sus flow and everything else falls into place

@zerohedge Russia isn't invited to the peace talks. What zerohedge is referencing is Ukraine talking to other countries in Davos, Switzerland about Zelensky's 10-part peace plan. The 10-part peace plan includes Russia withdrawing from Crimea and Donbass, meaning Ukraine wins the war.

Not all heat pump installers are competant. Most can't even fit external pipe insulation properly. Even boiler installers should have been doing a heat loss to correctly size the appliance.…
@plumbers_urban @HeatingAcademy Why do you need a buffer? Not getting enough flow? Buffers extend run times? How? They increase cycling, they force the heat pump to work at high output for the majority of the time, then turn off, rinse & repeat. It's a very inefficient solution.

Since I wrote that in Aug I've been on @HeatingAcademy course and now I understand why. 🫣 Depending on heat loss and size you are probably OK, we have done the math a couple of times and its OK.
@kenbone44 @GSHPinstaller @ScottishGasMan @Si_Poskett @CustomRenewable @HeatingAcademy He has 10mm off 22mm distribution. That is doable. Try manifold and 8mm and you get 3.5kpa pressure loss per 1m per 1kW - not a chance without a buffer. It all needs to be calculated on job per job basis.
