My hottest 5e take: Proficiency Bonus is an elegant, simple, streamlined mechanic, and it sucks. The original "D&D Next" playtest materials had variable weapon and magic attacks based on class, and this was A Good Thing, Actually.

The way people are acting around this RPG is insane. So what if people don’t know what it is? Are people supposed to be aware of every single RPG? You understand GMs run different games, right? Bet a lot of you haven’t read Apocalypse World, Burning Wheel, and so on.

10th Edition D&D notes: - Added non-combat encounter toggle. - Natural 20s no longer crash the system. - Hotfix: AI GM no longer has a chance of TPKing the party during a long rest.
