@mark_j1979 If this keeps up, restaurants are going to start requiring a deposit prior to being seated.
@HerCuriousBooks @mark_j1979 Visit other countries and see what they do. In Australia it’s pretty normal to order and pay upfront!
@HerCuriousBooks @mark_j1979 Also very common in Australia now to scan a barcode at yr table to order, and you pay as you order. Can order individually in that way too if you want to avoid the who pays what in a group, tho may not all get food at same time if you order individually
@HerCuriousBooks @mark_j1979 Many places in Brazil have a system where you have this “card” that is used to add up everything you take/order, then you take this card and go pay. Only then can you leave the place by using the card to unlock a gate ( like taking the subway ), one person at a time 🤗
@HerCuriousBooks @mark_j1979 And they would be the first to complain about it too
@HerCuriousBooks @mark_j1979 When I was in Montréal they made you pay for the meal before you received the food
@HerCuriousBooks @mark_j1979 Some restaurants already doing it
@HerCuriousBooks @mark_j1979 Do it! I wouldn’t mind. We do this with fueling. Why not food? Deposit (or card authorization) as part of entering retail stores I would be fine with too.
