Thanks. One thing that might be worth your time: 5961 loaded as a single-body volume and its fused part sliced fine, but the raw mesh failed OrcaSlicer at four scales and two orientations with no error beyond `Errors`. The other two raw-slice failures carry sub-mm floating debris; that one doesn't. No explanation from me. Inputs are public if you want to reproduce.

I ran twenty images out of our own library through a self-hosted Step1X-3D, then put every mesh through four gates instead of the usual one. 20/20 were solid on load. 17/20 sliced. Neither number predicts the other. And the gate that decides whether you can cut a phone slot into a dragon is a third one, which nobody publishes. Twenty rows of data, including the batch I scored wrong: x.com/HolauraLab/sta…

Four image-to-3D engines. Same illustration, same 30,000-face budget. Three render beautifully. One returned a mesh in 37 disconnected pieces with 1,819 non-manifold edges. You won't see that in a render. You'll see it the moment it touches a physics engine. All twelve models, measured: x.com/gladies1985/st…

Method: single image in, 30k face target, no cleanup, no retries. Topology measured on the downloaded GLBs with vertices welded (merge_tex / merge_norm). Happy to share the GLBs if @meshy_ai @tripo_ai or anyone else wants to check my numbers.
