Unions that want to do student politics instead of wages and conditions, an Armada that wants to be a ferry service of trafficking instead of defend the border I can't help but feel half the problems we have would improve if organisations just did the job they were set up to do.

So at the moment when #OTAN #NATO need to ramp up they are going to need to get men who own no property, have no stake in their societies and were told they were replaceable to go and potentially die for a generation who made none of those sacrifices? Good luck with that.

Maybe if we just focussed on wages terms and conditions (I.E the job of a Trade Union) we wouldn't have a Union density of about 11% and have become virtually non existent in the private sector.

Another depressing piece in El Mundo about how 30 year old Spaniards aren't having kids but share flats. Everyone knows the problem, it's just people are too cowardly to admit the solution (discriminate against old people/me in favour of Spanish people who can have kids ).

Land is a zero sum game, you can't 'grow' more Madrid. You have to discriminate. No party that can't tell pensioners and speculators we are discriminating against you in favour of Spanish people of child bearing age can be taken seriously.

50 year old people can't have kids, nor really can women in their 40's . We simply have a generation of politicians who grew up when everything was cheap and easy who are ideologically incapable of knowing that discriminating is an essential part of politics.

They are undoubtedly going to have been victims of crime in Madrid because of the amount of police who were drafted in to cover #LaVuelta25 the victims will almost certainly not have the money to send their kids (which they can't afford anyway) to private school.

Also on #LaVuelta25 . I don't watch cycling but the main attraction of the sport from the outside is how close fans could get on the stages and watch the event . That's basically dead now for Spanish cycling.

I am not old enough to remember when left wing meant working class trade unions focussed on wages terms and conditions in their own countries because I wasn't born in the 19th century but it is important to remember that left wing didn't always mean what it does now.
