Why HonestSetup exists: AI is everywhere: work, school, your kid's phone. But few people explain what you're using or what it does with your chats. So we're building a free quiz that picks a plan that fits and shows the settings to check. No AI company can pay to rank higher.
New: Gemini can now use your Google Maps searches and saved places, plus your Calendar, to suggest plans for your day. Google says it only does this with your permission. Our tip: connect only the apps you'd be comfortable with an assistant reading.
Heads up, Claude users: starting next week, Pro, Max and Team chats will run in auto mode by default. Instead of asking before each step, an automated check blocks risky actions. Rather approve every step yourself? Anthropic says you can switch back to manual anytime.
Watch out for fake AI apps. The FTC has warned that ads for fake AI software have been used to spread malware. Skip the ads. Type the company's web address yourself, and scroll past "Ad" or "Sponsored" search results.
Anthropic's new Claude Duet app watches your connected apps and flags what needs you. It's a U.S. waitlist preview for Pro and Max plans. Anthropic says it checks with you before acting. Tip: only connect apps you'd let an assistant read.
Gemini on Android Auto can now use your Gmail, Calendar and Photos to answer questions while you drive, like your flight's gate. Google says it connects your apps only with your permission. If you turn it on, passengers can hear the answers too.
