i was a devout christian for most of my life. leaving christianity made my life better i can’t tell you how incredibly sad it is to hear that you need religion to live a life full of meaning. that’s actually heartbreaking and another example of the harmful nature of religion.

@iamAtheistGirl if god doesn't exist then life is inherently pointless. But that isn't even the worst part, believing there is no god is absolutely the worst case to make, best case you are right and gain nothing, worst case you are wrong and go to hell.
@HydraRL__ @iamAtheistGirl The point of life is living it. No gods needed for that.
@HydraRL__ @iamAtheistGirl what if the christian god is real and hates people who pray to him bc prayers disturb his rest, all the guidance to pray is actually from the devil, who knows that only those who don't pray will avoid hell?
@HydraRL__ @iamAtheistGirl If there is no good and no afterlife then this life is all we have. It won’t have *less* meaning. It will have *more* meaning. There is no magical second chance to get anything right. No other world to go to if this one doesn’t make it.
@HydraRL__ @iamAtheistGirl It may be pointless to you. But non-christians are perfectly capable of living meaningful lives. If we are right we live a good life. If we are wrong there is nothing we can do. If you are wrong you waste your life. If you are right then you dont know if you end up in heaven.
@HydraRL__ @iamAtheistGirl how, it frees you. lets you enjoy every moment to its fullest, it gives life more meaning when you dont have a whole cult dictating your every move
