Comprehensive 4-Pillar Approach to Strengthen Shipbuilding, Maritime Financing, and Domestic Capacity 🔰 Cabinet approves Rs.69,725 crore Package to Revitalize India’s Shipbuilding and Maritime Sector 🔰 Shipbuilding Financial Assistance Scheme extended until 31st March 2036 with a total corpus of Rs.24,736 crore 🔰 Maritime Development Fund approved with Maritime Investment Fund of Rs.20,000 core. Today, the Union Cabinet chaired by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved a ₹69,725 crore package to revitalise India’s shipbuilding and maritime ecosystem. Anchored on a 4-pillar comprehensive plan, the initiative extends the Shipbuilding Financial Assistance Scheme till 2036, establishes a ₹25,000 crore Maritime Development Fund for long-term financing, and launches the Shipbuilding Development Scheme with a ₹19,989 crore outlay to expand capacity to 4.5 million GT.
