I put bird seed in my yard so birds can hang out and snack and give me something to look at when I do dishes. I get a good number of different birds but instead of just saying what they are I will introduce you to specific birds in my yards... some birds are weiners.
First, these are not *actual* photos of the birds in my yard because they always fly away and the pics look awful through my window. Just go with me Every year mourning doves show up and they squat in the seeds and ignore everyone. They strike me as amiable dummies.
One cardinal couple always show up together. She eats first while he sits on a branch and I guess shit talks the other birds. She leaves and then he has something to eat after. They will never eat together like it's a weird, clandestine mission they're on.
I have an entire mob of blue jays, about 10 of them and they are all assholes. Blue jays hate everything with wings. I have seen a bluejay literally kick a smaller bird out of the bird feeder. Like he lifted his foot and kicked the other bird off the ledge. Oh, they're hateful.
Three ravens live in my neighborhood and they do not eat birdseed. However, the other birds seem to attract them and they will strut around my yard like toddlers in the rain. They're the size of cats and I feel like they're just showing off.
