getting yelled at by a transphobic guy the whole way into dc and he’s apparently live-streaming me 🙏👍
@saoirsegowan According to Wallethub, Washington, DC does unfortunately rank in the top 5 US cities for hate-crimes. I'm sorry you and so many other people have to fear for your safety every day in this country.
@Fractal_Edge @saoirsegowan Weird. I thought southern states would have more hate crimes. All of those cities are north u.s lmao
@Fractal_Edge @saoirsegowan Ok blue states dont always support minorities and some southern states are actually chill thanks for letting me know :) (not sarcastic btw)
@BabuuDaIkuStan @Fractal_Edge @saoirsegowan I think it has to do with the facts that in cities people are typically around eachother more. Like y’all have subways and stuff. In the south you can avoid people for the most part because you drive everywhere.
@BabuuDaIkuStan @Fractal_Edge @saoirsegowan Shocking, the racist states don't record racism.
@BabuuDaIkuStan @Fractal_Edge @saoirsegowan Does seem that way but my personal worst experiences related to people spewing ugliness at me for being queer have happened in NYC and Toronto, whereas life in ATL has mostly been good (ofc, I am also read as cis now and sometimes? maybe as straight)
@BabuuDaIkuStan @Fractal_Edge @saoirsegowan It's because alot more people live in those areas and those areas are economically deprived depending on the part of the city in question all lead to higher crime rates all lead to higher hate crime rates
@BabuuDaIkuStan @Fractal_Edge @saoirsegowan dc is such a transient city and the most hardcore ppl of both sides politically come here. I used to see a crowd of MAGA hat ppl on the metro almost everyday going to work even tho its one of the most liberal cities
@BabuuDaIkuStan @Fractal_Edge @saoirsegowan You'd be surprised, most people in the south are either genuinely nice or just leave you alone.
@BabuuDaIkuStan @Fractal_Edge @saoirsegowan I’m not surprised at all. In my experience, living in Ohio was much worse than living in the South. The main difference was that Ohioans assumed Ohio was better.
@BabuuDaIkuStan @Fractal_Edge @saoirsegowan GA & TX are southern states....
