"I might probably condone such violence, unlike the boredom. A game of chase, with presumably high stakes should help."

"Very bored. Very violent too, love. And /very/ possessive of that sword..."

"See, that's all it took to come to the conclusion that you might just be bored. Why would you wish to burn someone who'd partake in such playtime, to hinder your boredom."

"Oh, sought after makes it sound so romantic. Truth is I'll burn most everyone you've cared for and then you, but you may try. It's been a while since I've played with someone."

"A condition ails me. It might just drive me over my resistance to steal this fine blade." His eyes intently observed the sword before shifting to her a moment later. "And to be seeked by my generous lady. A treat."

"It is I who would seek yours, and the sword might just help with that." It's said in amusement...but it might be a veiled thread.

"Wow, the emperor fancies designing swords as much as he fancies designing maps and kingdoms, rather, redesigning." Chuckling under his breath, he boldly pointed the sword towards her. "Will it seek my blood if I were to run away with it. Or my enemies' blood?"

"Mhm." She nods. "It's one of a kind. Picked and designed by the Emperor, just a few years back." Just observing for now - amused with his boldness. "Rather the blood of its enemies."

@FortifiedSister Resting the emptied plate of rolls aside. He heaved a deep breath of satisfaction. "It is only right I provide security for your family while you're at the creek miss baker Florence, I haven't forgotten the free food. Would be nice to have the remaining treats while I'm there.

"Feels, quite balanced." The witcher couldn't help but smirk at the succeeding query. "More than the weight, I feel the blood on Nilfgaard's blades."

"So, how's it feel? Feel Nilfgaards weight on your shoulders yet, Witcher?" Rose coos, amused, as she watches him.

"The kindest." He hasn't thought this through, to his own peril maybe. He steps forth as she steps away and lifts the sword before resting it on his shoulder. "Worth it."

"hmmmmmm..." Rose is considering it, and then steps away from the sword. "You may."

"Would certainly help keep the grub dry. Appreciate it miss baker." Almost at the end of the current plate of rolls, he nodded swiftly at her plans for the creek. "You should make haste, the earlier you reach, the more time for the child to enjoy the stream."

“I’ll also make sure everything is wrapped in some cloth, too. I find that helps,” she said quickly, reaching to grab the spare fabrics. “After this, I may take my daughter and sisters to the creek to cool down. I’m certain the loaves in the oven will be done by then.”

"You heard it correctly, this will last me my next two meals. The peak flavour should sustain safely till then." Another roll was deleted from existence shortly after. "The heat isn't jesting though, a breeze break should help."

Blinking, the baker stared at him for a moment before letting out a small laugh. “This heat must be affecting me more than I thought, I apologize. I thought you said that you’ll take two of everything else.”

"That is unlikely, so royally presumptuous, and valid." Maybe plain kind speech should help him. "May I hold it for you, please."

"Indeed. That's a fool's chance." He swiftly dropped a roll whole into his mouth and churned it straight to his belly. "Yeah. I'll get the whole plate... And two of everything else. I've made good coin this month and I'm tired of drinking it away." Rolls 2 & 3, the same fate.

“Aye, it would be foolish of you to refuse,” she teased gently with a smile before moving to serve him the pastry. Despite the heat, Florence made sure her bakery had pies, tarts — anything with fruit, really, and bread. “Try this first. There’s a chance you might hate it.”

"A fragrance so sweet I can almost taste it already. Would be foolish of me to refuse the offer." His eyes roamed the surroundings while his nose worked in tandem to identify other available snacks. "Better if I pay pay for the remaining plate."

“Well, of course. There’s many reasons why I keep the windows open when I’m baking. People can never resist the scent of fresh bread and cinnamon rolls.” With that, Florence gestured to the plate of cooling cinnamon rolls and smiled. “Would you like one? My treat.”

Stepping closer to the baker, the witcher couldn't help but force his lids close and direct the majority of his sensory forces to his nose. "Would be a shame to cage the fleeting aroma. Quite important to draw customers in I assume."

Wiping a bit of moisture off her brow with her apron, which naturally left a dusting of flour on her forehead, Florence let loose a small laugh. “If I did, I fear I’d no longer need to make bread for a living.”

He is slightly more perceptive than given the credit for. "I can hold it for you, if you've exhausted your grip."

"Uhu..." As if to test him, removing her grip from her sword, leaving it tucked into the earth.

A reasonable way to go about it. After all the bread IS her bread. The radiating aroma has halted the witcher's advancement. "Do you sell packaged jars of this pleasant aroma?"

𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞. @FortifiedSister

Also fair. However, that bread is her livelihood; it keeps food on the table for her family. She can withstand the heat a little while longer for that.

Fair. At the same time, if she doesn't hasten, she runs the risk of burning up herself given the heat.

She’s been thinking about it. If only for a moment or two. Maybe after these loaves of bread are done baking — she doesn’t want to burn another batch.
