@SteveD29 From my understanding with Stamkos, he was VERY close to signing with Toronto but they did not go the years due to his injury history, Tampa did and evidently signed with them.

@SteveD29 Don't think Steve is coming back home? His family wants him back here, well at least close to home. Toronto, Canadiens and Sabres make a lot of sense.

For what it is worth, I talked to Joe Tavares, John's father, and he said that John hopes he can get a good contract from the Islanders but really did not like the fact Weight was let go. If no contract is given to his liking, he will be coming home to play as per Joe.

A lot of you have been asking me, might as well make it fun. Lets see if any of these scenarios occur before the draft.

I will reveal my identity at 2000 followers or 500 retweets. Currently not employed by an NHL team so there are no restrictions. Not a burner account either. Cheers.

Leafs and Jets are talking trade. It is believed the Leafs have interest in Jacob Trouba. The Leafs wouldn't mind giving up the 25th overall pick and Kapanen/Brown/Leivo/Gardiner. Could take a package of 25th overall+Brown+Gardiner to get it done.

So many of you asking how the Leafs could fit Tavares, Matthews, Nylander, and Marner. It would be difficult but not impossible. Look at PIT as an example. If you would like to know my expertise in this let me know I'd gladly show you how I would manage the Leafs.

@FantasyHockey4U Its complex because the player has to agree to sign a new contract prior to the trade with the team he is traded to on july 1st, if not then the deal falls through or if the player does not sign the team gets something of significant in return (picks).

Never said Oilers will talk to him, thats tampering. Canadiens would come to Max Pacioretty stating "We got a deal with Oilers but the need assurance you will sign long term deal with them at x money and x term, if not then no deal". Deals like that have occurred. x.com/fantasyhockey4…

@InsiderIntel That can only be done if his rights were traded. Can't talk to him while property of another team. They didn't teach that in scouting school.

A GM would never say "Im trading player X, give me your offer". That decrease the value tremendously. Never happens and its coming from experience. Not looking for clicks, I do this for fun, I don't care for it and for the fame. Enjoy! x.com/djd1281/status…

@djd1281 @mcguire28 Ive worked in the National Hockey League and played this great sport. I don't need to be making things up or using google as a source. Simple, someone close to Rutherford told me Kessel and Sullivan dont even talk. Rutherford is looking for a coachable player.

Penguins have informed every NHL team that Phil Kessel is available and will be willing to eat some salary. Believe it or not but the Leafs asked about Kessel but didnt go far. I know the Canes asked the Penguins but want a Faulk back in the deal. Flames have inquired as well.
