Danger and violence is increasing in the areas Special Constables are sworn to protect. The time to act is NOW. We will continue to call on the @ONsafety to make amendments in the CSPA to provide the equipment, uniforms, and authorities to keep the public safe.

Violence increasing on transit. Special Constables often are the first responders. Many of the times the reported incident isn’t what it actually is, and Special Constables end up in situations that increases their risk or the risk to the public. Equip them properly.

It is with great sadness that I share the tragic passing of @YRP Constable Travis Gillespie who was killed in a collision on his way to work today. He is survived by his parents, loved ones and colleagues. This unexpected loss is devastating for all members of our organization.

@blogTO You law-abiding and fare paying riders should be in favour of this. Not to lobby the TTC to stand down it’s security and enforcement efforts. If you don’t enforce fares then you invite more crimes later on. A lot of criminals who cause crimes on the system don’t pay.

Deliberate misinformation from the TTC. While platoons may consist of 14-16 officers.. illness/injury, leave, court, and vacation leaves the platoon running with 8-10 officers most days. Day and night shift have a slight overlap, but the assertion that 40 officers are on patrol..

Today a @TTChelps Employee was stabbed. Quick & fearless actions of the TTC Special Constables resulted in an arrest of the offender. This type of dangerous & incredible work is not uncommon with these officers. We commend them all & are wishing a speedy recovery for the employee

It's hard to escape a deeply unsettling feeling that Ottawa has become The Purge. And I wish I was being glib, but I'm really not. A bunch of people doing illegal and frightening things being allowed to continue doing illegal and frightening things, with no consequences.
