Hey @TAKEALOT, sending 1 item instead of the 4 advertised was bad enough. But keeping my expensive "next-day" delivery fee when you didn't deliver next day AND falsely advertised the product is straight-up theft.

@willempet Rent needs to go down in Cape Town. Paying a premium to live in a shithole aint fun.

@AndrewJansenVa2 And then living in a shithole. Just look at how bad the situation on the N2 is. Having to risk your life to get to work.

@Jake_Romani_ @Action4SA @HermanMashaba @DereleenJ Cape Town is becoming a real shithole. And then rent is unaffordable even with a good salary!

@willempet And the problem is. This won’t change. No reduction in rates and taxes can be expected. Maybe a reduction in increases but that will take years to catch up with inflation if there are no increases for a few years. #CapeTownUnaffordableForYoungProfessionals

The only solution to Cape Town’s unsustainable rate explosion is to scrap the value-driven system completely and adopt the Polish model (an area-based system), where ratepayers pay taxes per m². The value-driven system is why property taxes in Cape Town are now higher than in Hong Kong and Paris. There are multiple factors driving up perceived market value in Cape Town that are not present in other cities, pushing prices to as much as 5× higher than comparable properties elsewhere: overvaluations, scarcity of land for new developments, and international buyers. This means the value-driven system can work in a city with far less volatile property markets, but not in Cape Town. This model is unsustainable in the long run, and many ratepayers are being driven out of their homes, which is unjust in itself. Any political party that campaigns on this will make huge inroads in the Western Cape almost immediately once it is explained to voters.

You need to stop this scam - @Uber_RSA This is supposed to be an Uber “Comfort” depicted as a late model Corolla. Instead, we got a busted old filthy Corolla Quest with creaking springs and pieces falling off.
