Under Local Govt Act 2001 S69 DCC obliged 2regard the policies and objectives of Government (incl #UNCRPD ratified in 2018). Rights of Disabled Persons Organisations (DPOs) totally disregarded. Writing to @AnneRabbitte & @SimonHarrisTD #Disability supporters should be v angry.

Surely no coincidence that this speech by @RishiSunak on a supposed 'sicknote culture' comes as a hugely critical report by the UN committee on the rights of persons with disabilities about DWP's ongoing breaches of the UN disability convention is expected to drop any day now.
Today the PM issued some cold and borderline inhuman rhetoric on benefit reforms. Again he wants to make life harder for Disabled and vulnerable people after announcing a "chilling" set of reforms to force people back to work. This persecution has to end. theguardian.com/politics/2024/…

Upon finding out our son was being restrained mechanically, it wasn't merely a matter of taking away the chair. He became reliant on it, & removing it entirely caused prolonged distress. It was necessary to gradually reduce his dependence, like weaning off an addiction #HarrysLaw

Under Local Govt Act 2001 S69 DCC obliged 2regard the policies and objectives of Government (incl #UNCRPD ratified in 2018). Rights of Disabled Persons Organisations (DPOs) totally disregarded. Writing to @AnneRabbitte & @SimonHarrisTD #Disability supporters should be v angry.
