Every time a major company or corporation needs to save money or cut costs. They always end up cutting the jobs of the people that actually do the work rather than cutting the salaries or the over bloated bonuses of the executives or board members who do pretty much nothing but sit around on their arse all day, using words like “synergy” clapping each other on the back. Whilst the REAL workers are the ones that suffer, show up, grind away to support their families and are the lifeblood of the company. Accessibility rights aren't just corporate checkboxes—they are a legal and moral necessity. Too often, companies claim they champion inclusion while hiding behind automated systems, ignoring disabled users, and making people feel like second-class citizens. Fighting for equality matters regardless of ability, and everyone deserves to be treated fairly. I know I’ve posted a lot about @Hinge, @Tinder, and @MatchGroup lately, and I appreciate everyone’s patience if it’s been repetitive. But this lack of accessibility is unacceptable. Automated selfie verification with zero manual review locks blind users out entirely, violating the Equality Act 2010. I won't stop speaking up until these companies take responsibility and make their platforms truly accessible for everyone. Thank you for everybody’s patience. As a blind user, my requests have been completely ignored, and I am currently blocked from making my profile public solely because I cannot complete your mandatory automated selfie verification process. Forcing an exclusively visual check with zero manual review or accessible alternative is an explicit barrier for disabled users. Under the UK Equality Act 2010, service providers have a strict legal duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure disabled people are not placed at a substantial disadvantage. Relying entirely on an inaccessible automated process—while ignoring reasonable requests for human intervention or an alternative verification pathway—constitutes a failure to make reasonable adjustments and amounts to indirect discrimination under the law. Stop ignoring support tickets, address these accessibility failures, and provide an alternative verification option or manually review and authorize my profile immediately!

There needs to be a manual verification alternative such as submitting government-issued identification or interacting with a human support agent via phone or email, as blind people cannot complete a visual liveness scan independently.

Match group publicly state that they aim to comply with global accessibility frameworks such as WCAG and the UK Equality Act. Authentication method with no alternative text, audio prompt, or non-visual verification path violates basic digital accessibility

I’m a blind user experiencing an accessibility violation due to the mandatory video selfie/Face Check requirement. This creates an accessibility Barrier / Civil Rights violation. Causing a Blind User to be Locked Out by Video verification

And before you ask, no there’s no one sighted to help me, companies need to put more thought into accessibility and not just hope that blind people have a sighted person to help them

@TinderSupport how is a blind user able to get photo verified if they can’t see. As my profile is hidden until I do this, I emailed support for help, got a Bot reply repeating the process to get photo verified. Where’s the accessibility support? #MakeTinderAccessible
