This gets Caitlin Clark through her rookie contract (and then some). But, also says to me that Nike always had the money for women's basketball/WNBA athletes. When someone tells you any woman isn't marketable, I need you to ask them what makes them think that?

@ItsMeghanLHall I have an honest question…Are you mad at how Nike is spending their money?
@ItsMeghanLHall This deal, also, sets the stage for future stars going forward.
@ItsMeghanLHall Let’s be honest, how many black women you know gonna buy a signature basketball shoe? Like 3?
@ItsMeghanLHall Sorry to break the news but WNBA will never be a large draw it’s just not exciting to watch. Lower the basket to 9 ft and we can talk!
@ItsMeghanLHall Maybe the number of people who tune in the watch & the number of venues sold out?
@ItsMeghanLHall WNBA finals drew less than 750k CCs title loss drew 18+ million Make the questions harder next time
@ItsMeghanLHall Maybe CC is just the first one that gives them a return on their investment🤷♂️
You see for a player to be marketable, they’d have to be able to sell enough shoes to cover the costs of production plus the contract they’re given. When most people only hear a certain player’s name when people use it solely to complain about Clark, the player isn’t that marketable
