My (very short!) time at The Plain Dealer has come to an end. I feel fortunate, because I have another job in journalism lined up. But my heart hurts for my fellow @PDNewsGuild members, who have given so much of their lives and hearts to their work here.
Many of them are now leaving under disheartening circumstances. Those who stay will continue to tell important stories, but under even more challenging conditions. I’m sad for this community and what it’s losing today. Cleveland, and all communities, need strong local journalism.
I turned down a more stable job to work at the PD, and I don’t regret that for a second. I couldn’t pass up the chance to work here. I’ve learned so much from my amazing colleagues and I’m so grateful I got to work with them and befriend them, and to be part of this community. ❤️
@JGrzelewski tell us some good news of where you are going?
@JGrzelewski We’re so glad you came to the PD! You left such an impact in your brief stay, so many great stories.
@JGrzelewski Thanks for the amazing coverage you’ve provided. It has been great working with you since you’ve been with the PD. I always appreciate your contributions.
@JGrzelewski Jordyn , I really enjoyed working with you ! May the winds be behind our backs to our next destination!
@JGrzelewski Sorry to hear, Jordyn. I enjoyed your writing and that one time we met, ha ha. Glad to hear you have something else lined up.
