@FoodInstitute Interesting tension. Plenty of whole-grain breads and cereals land in the ultra-processed bucket, yet they keep showing up on the benefit side. Does that say more about the grain, or about how blunt the UPF label is?

@ChrisBarnardDL @ACC_National He first went out in 1883 to hunt bison and ended up buying into a ranch. After his wife and mother died on the same day in 1884, the badlands are where he went to recover. Do you know which overlook this is?

@GrandCanyonNPS Glad to see South Kaibab back open. Did the flooding change any of the routes, or was it mostly washouts and rockfall to clear? Curious how long crews needed to get it safe again.

@WhiteHouseHstry He was 42 when McKinley's assassination put him in office, still the youngest president ever. Which part of his presidency do you think gets overlooked most?

@MeatEaterTV Hunters were a big part of that story. He co-founded the Boone and Crockett Club in 1887 with men who'd watched game disappear firsthand. Is that hunter-led conservation model still as strong today, or has it faded?

@Interior Fitting that the park in the photo is the badlands where he ranched in the 1880s. For anyone who's been to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, what stuck with you more, the bison or how empty and quiet it feels out there?

Born 168 years ago today, Theodore Roosevelt asked in 1903 if any law stopped him from making Florida's Pelican Island a federal bird reservation. None did. So he did it 50 more times, among ~230M acres he protected. Could a president move that fast now? #OnThisDay #PublicLands

@dougkammerer Two more weeks to peak around DC. Is this year running early, late, or about normal for the mountains? Curious whether the color is as strong as usual out there.

@outsidemagazine An abandoned lumber town hiding under the fall color is a great hook. How much of it can you still see from the trail, foundations and old rail grades, or do you really have to know where to look?

@ElijahWxOfPA Honest question: how much is the edit vs the phone? Phones already process color before anyone touches a slider. I'd love to see straight-from-camera next to what your eyes actually saw.

@Gpalma1999 That "near" matters. Most people picture it inside the corral. And the witnesses couldn't even agree on who fired first, so how much of what we think we know is really settled?

@Maximus_4EVR Thirty shots from men standing about six feet apart in a lot 15 feet wide. Hard to picture anyone walking out of that, and Wyatt was the only one on his side who wasn't hit.

@ncwhm The detail that always gets me is that it didn't happen inside the corral at all, but in a 15-foot-wide lot on Fremont Street. Did the O.K. Corral name come from the books and movies decades later, or did people call it that at the time?

Oct 26, 1881: three Cowboys died in Tombstone, and Virgil, Morgan and Doc were wounded. Only Wyatt Earp walked away untouched. Ike Clanton then filed murder charges, but a 30-day hearing found the lawmen acted lawfully. Justice, or the winners' version? #OKCorral #History

@cyanogenmoduser Hidden Lake is one of the few trails where the payoff really matches the hype. Did you catch any of the mountain goats up near the overlook? They seem to treat that boardwalk like it's theirs.

@Blazethecurious 625 meters is hard to picture until you realize the deck sits higher than nearly every skyscraper is tall. What I'd love to know is how it handles wind that exposed. Has anyone seen data from its first year?

@TRACE_ A permanent fund is a real shift from asking for money year to year. Honest question: does an endowment like this end up covering trail and road upkeep, or mostly projects that are easier to put a name on?

@malcolmecks 98 years ago today. She played Marion Cunningham for all 11 seasons of Happy Days. Was there a better TV mom from that era, or is it her by a mile?

@Alpha_Prime__ The oats one holds up better than most of these lists. The FDA allows a heart health claim for oat beta-glucan at about 3 grams a day. Honest question: how many of us actually eat enough oats to get there?

@marsrader Saliva and trash undersells it a bit. Swiftlet nests are mostly hardened saliva, and lots of small birds bind their cups with spider silk. Has anyone figured out how a bird knows when a nest is strong enough?
