Good early extension for a good, consistent, consistently healthy player. Eagles now have 2 big money WRs, but Smith's big money won't hit until 2026 and they'll have at most one year of overlap between Smith and AJ Brown. They also picked up the $15.6M 5th year option for Smith. So it really works out to be 4 years, $90M, and control through his age 30 season. Eagles are a good FO in general, and especially great at getting ahead of the market.

@JakeLiscow Howie likely using an option bonus or two here with DeVonta. Bengals could also utilize this option bonus structure to keep Tee's cap his low(er) during the first two years of a hypothetical extension.
@JakeLiscow @BengalsTalk IMO he has too many games where he just disappears. Despite what the stats say, he's not in the same tier as Tee is. If Tee could stay healthy for 17 games with Burrow, he's easily an 80+ rec 1,200+ yard, 10 TD guy. Only way Smith does that is if AJ Brown is not playing.
@JakeLiscow Interested to see fully gtd as only states 51m Gtd & likely includes 5th Yr 15.5m previously already fully gtd. This still sounds below the 48m double tag cost for the Bengals with TH. DS is imo as good if not better than TH so this should make a deal easier for the Bengals
@JakeLiscow Devonta smith and age 30 in the same tweet seems…weird
