To be clear, if someone does trigger a motion to vacate -- anyone, MTG or Massie -- it would be incredibly perilous for Johnson. But remember: the first step is a motion to table. And Democrats could vote to table, and that's that.
@JakeSherman Dem will vote for Jefferies and you kidding.
why would the Dems vote to table? Couldn't they vote no (like they did with McCarthy) and then on the actual motion to vacate vote no (protecting Johnson)? This would mean that those who protected Johnson (such as Moskowitz, for example) would be on the prevailing side and could motion to reconsider the motion to vacate at any time
@JakeSherman This reminds me of the old Twitter. You know, before it was just Nazi's, Russian bots and friendly women telling me there was a link in their bio. Keep up the great work Jake!
@JakeSherman Okay the first step is a motion to table.
@JakeSherman If they successfully vacate Johnson and Dems' (for the better of the country) don't opt to help him win a majority in a vote, it will paralyze the House and legislation with be doa indefinitely. I don't see who else can garner the votes and they can kiss their majority goodbye.
@JakeSherman You seem to be making a lot of sense today. Yes, let’s table.
@JakeSherman To be practical, who in the name of God do they think would take that job? Jordan, Stefanik, Scalise don't want it, Matt Gaetz wouldn't have the votes, no person who could pass a competency test would do that job
@JakeSherman Here's Jake. Being led by the nose again. All up in GOP delay tactics. Losing sight of Ukraine, Israel, etc. Sigh...
