Population of California: 39,538,223 Population of Wyoming: 578,803 The 40 million people who live in the 22 smallest states get 44 senators to represent their views. The 40 million people in California get two. This is undemocratic and an unfair representation of voters.
@JamesHu29812484 Congress represents the people of their district. The Senate represents the state. When did schools stop teaching Civics?
@JamesHu29812484 Ever heard of the House of Representatives? How many reps does California have compared to Wyoming?
@JamesHu29812484 Good thing there is a separation of statehood from its citizens. Every one of those people has the House to represent them. The Senate and Electoral College represents statehood. Every statehood gets 2 senators. Every citizen gets a calculated representation.
@JamesHu29812484 That's correct. The US is a Republic with elected representatives. It is not a democracy. The founding fathers saw the danger of mob-rule in democracy.
@JamesHu29812484 Cry more. It was a promise made to small states log ago in order to get the Constitution ratified. Now you want to break that promise because you fear the next election might not go your preferred way. Too bad.
@JamesHu29812484 It’s because the Senate represents the states, not the people. Each state gets equal representation - as it should.
