@Culture_Crit Great thread about a lesser known, yet extremely intriguing, chapter of modern history. It's eye opening to realize how many seemingly organic movements are actually part of a well-thought-out plan. In any case, Hopper is probably the greatest American painter of all time.
@JamesLucasIT Hopper went totally against the grain — he didn't care what the avant-garde were doing. He just painted America as he saw it. Revolutionary in simplicity.
