@SteveSkojec @grok Maybe I misunderstood your original post… I thought you said you grew up in a community of people who taught you to fear God and didn’t understand his mercy and love. All I said was I grew up in the same time period, with family from before V2, and I did didn’t experience that.

@SteveSkojec Well, all I can tell you is I grew up in the late 70s early 80s in an Italian American community… Family members who grew up in pre-Vatican Catholicism and none of them had this type of understanding of God. It sounds more fundamentalist Protestant to me.

@Taniel I’m not going to try to justify the original story. But I remember going to see my father in prison when I was 14, and there was a prisoner and his lady friend having sex in the visiting room. These things do happen.

@SteveSkojec Go to an eastern rite liturgy? The Byzantine and Maronite liturgies are quite beautiful.

@AdamKinzinger >>> how you will never have power again. I guarantee you that Democrats will do something stupid with their new found power that will give Republicans another chance.

@SteveSkojec I don’t think it’s a contradiction to say that if we don’t have to kill someone we shouldn’t. There may have been a time when the DP *was* necessary to protect society. But I don’t think that time is now. If we can avoid killing people, we should.

@SteveSkojec I’m not gonna sit down and watch three seasons of a show. Which episodes have video clearly showing blue or red orbs flying about, portals opening or mysterious creatures attacking animals. Happy to watch those episodes.

@SteveSkojec Social media has a toxic combination: it riles people up while giving them anonymity. Whenever I post something, I try to ask myself: Would I say this the same way if the person were standing right in front of me? If the answer is no, I probably shouldn’t post it.

@mvenuti1980 Frankly, at this point, if Britain’s combat ready military force is even *halfway* competent, I think they might be able to take Russia.

@EedenEnne With our first child, I’d jump out of bed at the slightest sound on the baby monitor. With the second, I’d wait a few minutes before getting up. With the third, I’d wait a little longer… then turn the monitor off. By the fourth, I didn’t even bother plugging it in.

@Nyct0phil3_x @afoidance My best friend in college was named ‘Arun’, and people just pronounced it as ‘Aaron’. Best of both worlds.

@AmethystJade29 @Prolife_Sam I don’t think the DP is *inherently evil*. I just think it’s largely unnecessary, when society can protect itself w/o killing prisoners. Rom 13:4 recognizes the state’s authority; it doesn’t make every use of that authority just. Otherwise, how was Rome wrong to crucify Christ?
