Go to any one of our great places," Trump said at a Texas rally, referring to the $5,000 bribe that he's promised to every American if Republicans maintain control of Congress after the midterm elections. To point out the incredibly obvious, if Republicans do carry these elections (which they won't) those "Trump Dividends" will never materialize, just like every other monetary promise he's made in the past. The only people who make money under this President are him, his family, and his cronies. Working class Americans get shafted at every turn. "You could even come to Mar-a-Lago. I said it the other night. You'll be my guest at Mar-a-Lago. The problem is that for $5,000 the most you'll be able to buy is a hamburger and maybe a small dessert," he added, chuckling. I'm not even sure you could buy that. No, don't go there. That's not a good place If you're price conscious." Obviously, a hamburger and small dessert don't cost $5,000 at Mar-a-Lago but Trump's point was clear. The braying, mindless MAGA idiots who file into arenas to hear him speak are of a lower class and can't afford to dine with him. This disdain for his supporters is a recurring theme in Trump's rhetoric. He hates these people because they're crude, stupid, and easily manipulated, which is ironically the exact reason that they support him. At this point, Trump could not possibly make it any clearer that he doesn't care about our collective financial suffering. He created this crisis with his disastrous Iran War, and now he's up on stage rubbing it in our faces and admitting that he doesn't mind high gas prices. Or maybe he could have started a disastrous war with Iran on Israel's behalf, driven up gas prices, tanked the economy, and engaged in a widespread coverup of Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking network. But no President could possibly be that stupid, right? "It has to be painted, and the exterior plaster can't be falling off the walls," Trump went on. "And the decorations and ornaments around the windows that are magnificent can't be on one side of the window and falling off on the other side. So we took molds of the one side and we put it on the other side, and we did a beautiful job." Anyone who has seen pictures of the Oval Office under Trump knows just how perfectly Obama hit the bullseye with his Cheesecake Factory joke. It's atrocious, decked out in cheap fake gold and ugly trim. It's a monument to bad taste and now every foreign leader that visits is immediately reminded that our country is being run by a failed casino operator. "Very little money spent. It's not about money. It's about seeing," Trump went on. "Guys like Obama don't see it. You don't see dirt. He doesn't see filth. He doesn't see broken ornaments on a building. The White House, to President Obama: Is a symbol of America. It has to be clean." "The columns can't be broken," Trump huffed on. The bricks can't be falling off from under the plaster. And for you to say it's a Cheesecake Factory, that just shows why you're a lousy president." The fact that Trump can get so worked up talking about his taste in aesthetics, but admits that he doesn't care about rising gas prices, just demonstrates what an abject failure he is. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani released a Spanish-language video explaining what residents can legally do when ICE agents come knocking. Republicans responded with outrage. Mamdani explained that agents generally cannot force their way into a home without a judge-signed warrant, consent, or an emergency. Residents can request that officers slide the warrant under the door and refuse entry if agents lack proper legal authorization. He also reminded viewers of their right to remain silent, ask whether they're free to leave during a street encounter, and consult an attorney before signing immigration documents. Apparently, explaining constitutional rights is now considered a threat, and Republican critics attacked the mayor. Sen. Rick Scott accused Mamdani of helping people evade immigration enforcement. Sen. Mike Lee questioned whom the video was intended to benefit. MAGA commentators went further, calling it sedition and demanding prosecution. Mamdani wasn't encouraging anyone to break the law. BREAKING: HELL YES! Texas gubernatorial candidate Gina Hinojosa sues Greg Abbott to obtain the "embarrassing" and "intimate" emails sent between his office and Elon Musk's minions. We cannot wait to read these in full... "Nobody here is accusing Greg Abbott of having a torrid love affair with Elon Musk,” Rep. Hinojosa said. "What this is about is we have the world’s only trillionaire getting massive tax breaks from this governor after giving him over $500,000 in campaign contributions." The lawsuit seeks to obtain over a thousand pages of communication which — given what we know about Musk's underhanded methods and blatant favor-buying through donations — could be extremely damaging to Abbott and the Republican Party's already-toxic brand. Numerous Musk companies are based in Texas, including SpaceX, Starlink, Tesla, X, and xAI. He donated $500,000 to Abbott's campaign and $250,000 to Texas House Speaker Dustin Burrows. At the same time, Musk has received billions in tax incentives and tens of millions in grants. From the outside looking in, it certainly looks like quid pro quo. If there's nothing untoward in these emails, why won't Abbott just release them? The Texas Newsroom filed a public records request to obtain the documents in 2025, but Abbott's office objected to the release and remarkably corrupt Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sustained the objections, with an order to release some of the materials. They were heavily redacted. “The people of Texas and the people of House District 49 are concerned over the growing power of tech giants in Texas regarding our tax dollars, resources, and data,” Hinojosa wrote in a letter to Abbott in September, asking to review the redacted information. “In light of the expanding influence of tech CEOs in Texas and the close working relationship between government and the corporate tech industry, transparency is essential for accountability, which is why I’m writing.” In her new lawsuit, Hinojosa revealed that Abbott rejected her request.
