In our experience, this program will be useful for companies that have identified employment tax issues that may have an adverse impact on affected current or former employees and/or may have a disproportionate effect on a company’s compliance obligations.
The IRS has provided taxpayers with guidance on the voluntary closing agreement process for employment tax issues in Internal Revenue Manual 4.23.25, Voluntary Closing Agreements for Employment Tax Cases (VCAP – ET).
New York State’s increased Real Estate Transfer Tax will go into effect on July 1, 2019. Washington D.C. has proposed legislation which, if passed, will increase the Deed Recordation Tax and Deed Transfer Tax Rates effective October 1, 2019.
Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP has been monitoring recent legislation in both New York State and Washington D.C. that will increase the applicable transfer taxes imposed on conveyances of commercial property over $2 million. huntonak.com/images/content…
