WE ARE OFFICIALLY BACK @sineatrix finds a theoretical basis for superconductivity in Cu-doped Lead Apatite. Isolated flat bands at the Fermi level is a hallmark of superconducting crystals. LK99 has it!!!! This is huge

The papers were not ready for publication. Lee & Kim had been working on the material on and off since Kim was in graduate school in 1999 (LK-99 geddit?). Lee never makes tenure and is still stuck as an adjunct professor 19 years later. Kim goes off to work in battery materials…

Just saw somebody try to argue that minimum wage isn't supposed to be a living wage. That their small business can't afford to pay a living wage. If the only way your business can exist is the exploitation of labor (aka peoples actual lives), then your business should not exist.

Even more interesting will be where AI diverges from biology. What’s possible on silicon with infinite energy that’s not on carbon with 2500 kcals/day?
