‘The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him said, ‘’Would you like to me to tell you about leadership and what it is? (His listeners said, ‘Yes, O Messenger of Allah.’’ And he said, “The beginning of it is blame, the second part of it is regret, and the third part is the torture of the Day of Resurrection.’

Happy Independence Day 🇳🇬 #NigeriaAt63

Today, New York City is currently heavily flooded. Rains have overwhelmed the drainage system of the world's most powerful city. Floods have shut down roads and the subway system. Schools had to be closed, and regular business around the city's financial heart is disrupted. Do you know what New Yorkers are doing? Watch the news. They are coming out to help each other and their city. If this happened in Lagos City, what would Nigerians do? Would we come out to help our neighbours and clean up our city? Or would we run to social media to tell the whole world that Nigeriá is finished and that Lagos is the most useless place on Earth? Then later, we get angry when America and Europe issue travel advisory against Nigeria. If you price your mother low in public, do not be surprised when the public prices you lower than your mother. After all, the apple cannot fall far from the tree. #TableShaker

I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Senator Saliu Mustapha, Turaki of Ilorin, on your well-deserved appointment as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agricultural Production and Services, as well as Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream).

Aisha Yesufu is a beautiful hypocrite. Saying APC and PDP are same as if her Lord and Savior is not part of the old order. In case she has forgotten, this is Peter Obi, • Adviser to President GEJ, a PDP admin • Former Chairman, Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC under a PDP admin • Running Mate to a PDP Presidential Candidate in 2019 • Presidential Aspirant under PDP • Chairman, Tin Can Island Port under the military I would advice Aisha to concentrate more on rebranding her image after that shameless Azonto dance on stage. Selah!

Governor Babagana @Zulum of Borno has blasted Chad’s UN Humanitarian coordinator for saying that security was getting worst in the North East instead of declining. Zulum debunked the claim at the Fourth Lake Chad Basin Governors’ Forum for Regional Cooperation on Stabilization, Peacebuilding and Sustainable Development has commenced in N’Djamena, Chad Republic. NO PRESIDENTIAL APPROVAL FOR SALARY INCREASES FOR POLITICAL OFFICE HOLDERS AND JUDICIAL OFFICERS We have followed with consternation the viral story of the purported 114% increase in the salary of the President, Vice President, elected Federal and State political office holders and judicial officers. We state without any equivocation that President Bola Tinubu has not approved any salary increase, and no such proposal has been brought before him for consideration. While we recognise that it is within the constitutional remit of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) to propose and fix salaries and allowances of political office holders and Judicial Officers, such cannot come to effect until it has equally been considered and approved by the President. It is important to note that RMAFC, through its Public Relations Manager, has responded to this fake story being circulated and has already set the record straight. However, this unfounded story gained prominence on social media and in a section of mainstream media, again, bringing to the fore the danger fake news poses to society and our national well-being. The misinformation was, obviously, contrived to create an ill will for the new administration and slow down the upward momentum and massive goodwill the Tinubu-led administration is currently enjoying among Nigerians as a result of its fast-paced, dynamic and progressive policies. It is important to reiterate to journalists, media managers, and members of the public that stories on government activities and policy issues that do not emanate from approved official communication channels should be ignored. Media practitioners are enjoined to, at all times, cross-check their stories to ensure accurate reportage, which is the hallmark of responsible journalism. I read a news somewhere saying Governors under the APC may nominate three persons for PBAT to pick one as Minister. This reminds me of 2015 when late Governor Ajimobi submitted names to PMB for ministerial slot. PMB ignored the names. He picked Barr. Adebayo Shittu. 😂😂😂

Neymar: “African Players have talent, but they only show it to their respective clubs, not for their respective countries. This is why Brazil has 5 World Cups, because African players don’t have a lot of passion to represent their countries like South American teams and the Europeans. It’s surprising because the best African players play in best clubs in Europe.”

You claim Nigeria Air doesn't have an office. I sey make I help your negative mindset small. @DahkDutch Anything else? 😏

Dangote's refinery is such a big deal. We Nigerians don't seem to know that. Not only is it worth $19 billion and is the largest single train refinery in the world, but it also occupies an area than Victoria Island, Ikoyi and Banana Island combined. With the direct and indirect jobs it will create, it is set to employ more people than the Lagos State Government. We are not making enough noise about this. It is a big deal. A game changer. Why is our government not showing enough excitement about this project? Every TV station and newspaper should have a countdown to the official opening. Especially the NTA. If this were happening in South Africa, they would flood the airwaves. We must do the same. In economic terms, this refinery is more relevant to Nigeria than the proposed inauguration of a new President and government on May 29. #TableShaker

My neighbour owned a vintage Benz he never drove, which, in his words, was only owned by three people in the world. He got it as a gift from a Saudi prince during his days as a sought-after medical specialist abroad, he said, but I took that as just a beautiful pitch for our proposed barter. I had a BMW he too liked, one I also rarely drive, so he asked us to swap. Even though I love the idea of owning a vintage car, I was not a fan of Benz, so I kept on stalling. Often, I would run into him or he would call to tease me about our proposed barter, and I would promise to get back to him. He’s in his late 60s or early 70s, and curiously introverted. He lived alone with a live-in house-help. I don’t even know if he had a family, and never asked. The closest I had ever gone to sharing my private matters with him was when he noticed I had a bandage. I had fallen down the stairs and sustained an injury. He kept on checking on me to track my recovery. And when my wife was pregnant, I used to rush to seek his quick advice whenever she was experiencing sudden contractions. Then I stopped bumping into him, then I noticed his cars had been unused, and then he stopped calling out of the blue to check on me. He became silence, utter silence. So, this morning, as I paused to observe his fleet of cars on my way out of the house, beginning to fantasise about owning that vintage Benz and how to apologise to the BMW community, our gate-man approached and said, “Oga, Doctor ya mutu fa”—Oga, Doctor is dead.” I froze. 💔
