For decades, cartels have made fortunes thru undervalued imports while ordinary Kenyans carried the tax burden. KRA’s job is not to protect inflated profit margins; it’s to protect taxpayers. Why can’t they declare and provide supporting evidence and payment remittances??

I find it absurd that a lawyer, you opt for sweeping claims of corruption on a whistleblower without a shred of credible evidence. Pure speculative, misleading, and motivated by your private interests. Wandayi is the most successful energy CS since independence by far.

There was a funeral in Migori County over the weekend. The deceased was Philip Makabongo, the ODM Migori County chairman, who has widely been hailed as by far the best of the 47 ODM county chairmen. But perhaps the only thing you will have heard was that ODM descended on Migori and insulted PS Raymond Omolo all day. It is the convenient narrative to enable "Luo UDA", a total of 22 people who work for Ruto, to play victim and seek more facilition from Ruto to "conquer the ground" in Luoland. There is a context to this story that Luo UDA won't tell you. Ahead of the burial ceremony, local MP Paul Abuor, who works for UDA while shameless brandishing an ODM ticket, declared himself the Chairman of the burial committee. He then warned ODM not "to bring politics" to the funeral. Imagine that. A politician warning politicians not to bring politics to the burial of another politician! In Luoland! The country's premier political tribe! Mental health. But that wasn't enough. In the middle of the night before the burial day, police came and attempted to demolish the tents and other facilities set up for the funeral service at Rongo University. It is at this juncture that the ODM fraternity, from party leader to the SG, got active at 1am in the night trying to secure the facility. Gov. Ochilo and Sen. Eddy Okech spent the night there, guarding it. Apparently, the security apparatus, through the County Commissioner, wanted the body of Makabongo to be taken from the morgue and sent directly to the grave. Luos don't bury even lizards that way. What is difficult to understand is why the security units, at whose apex Raymond Omolo sits, were so scared of ODM gathering for a funeral at its own base. Oh, well, maybe because Paul Abuor and Luo UDA had assured their master, at the master's cost, that Rongo had gone yellow and there was no ODM left there. Nobody really insulted PS Omolo at the funeral. Speakers simply reminded Omolo that, one, he wouldn't be allowed to use the police to intimidate the community and its preferred political party, and two, that a more powerful Luo had previously held the same post, in the mould of Hezekiah Oyugi Ogango, and had never used his office to run petty divisive errands in the grassroots. The mention of Oyugi was quite apt. At the height of his power, the PS for Internal Security reigned national terror on lazy security units and officers. But back in the village, he would send lorries to pick up recruits for state employment (earning him the eternal nickname, Kalam Maduong', the big pen, for his ability to "write" people jobs). When not exercising power from his seat in Nakuru or Nairobi, Oyugi would be bringing government bigwigs to the villages to build schools and churches, especially SDA (his original church) and AIC (Moi's denomination). These schools and magnificent churches stand to date, as testimony that power can be used to develop the common mwananchi. In contrast, Raymond Omolo is more known for forays in Luoland, mostly the Southern part, in what usually look like recruitment drives for UDA. In other words, William Ruto has taken a fine son of the land and turned him into a party youth winger. As PS for Interior, Raymond's actual adversaries are Alshabab, the bandits in the North Rift, the guys murdering girls in AirBnBs and security threats to the nation. Neither Raila Odinga nor ODM ranks there. The impression created by UDA bloggers that Raila Odinga is fighting Omolo is a shallow way to raise the latter's profile, which considering these desperate methods, must really be dwindling. Omolo is a civil servant. Raila is a politician and a premier leader of the entire nation, not tribe. ODM is a political party. If Omolo brings himself to the political kitchen, he will get burnt like all politicians. In fact, Luo UDA should be asking why speakers didn't mention Owalo and other Luos who work for government. 1/2
