In a review of three years' worth of Jan. 6 criminal cases, @CBSNews found that nearly 500 defendants are accused of assaulting police officers. Former President Donald Trump has argued the defendants are being unfairly treated like "hostages." His rhetoric is sparking growing concern.
@CBSEveningNews @MacFarlaneNews @CBSNews His rhetoric? You should be factual and call it what it is, HIS LIES. The Jan 6th participants have been convicted. They are criminals. Trump refers to them as hostages bc if they're innocent so is he. Can we stop pretending this is his "opinion"? It's not, it's his lifeline.
@JenniferDzuril2 @CBSEveningNews @MacFarlaneNews @CBSNews Lady, you are so misinformed sad to say.
It is more than opinion. More than 350 of those in jail have not even been tired - some not even charged - aka: hostages/political prisoners. No bail. Sitting in jail, sometimes solitary confinement, for 3 years. Most others pleaded out to lesser charges and were given probation or home confinement. 170 were convicted at trial. You might want to read more and listen less to lying talking heads. JS
@JenniferDzuril2 @CBSEveningNews @MacFarlaneNews @CBSNews No Feds have been convicted.
@JenniferDzuril2 @CBSEveningNews @MacFarlaneNews @CBSNews The same precedent will be used in the future for all protesters no matter what side they are on. You get what you wish for. If these dissidents didn't have the right to protest and police had the right to start a riot by acting violently, then no protest is safe.
@JenniferDzuril2 @CBSEveningNews @MacFarlaneNews @CBSNews Exactamundo!
