Why not give the students a #STEM gardening challenge? Let them decide on what plant species, the amount of water/sunlight their plants get. Encourage them to document their research and findings in the way they choose. #UoNTeach #Creativeminds #ICT #Responsibility #Gardening

A school in Melbourne is bringing the community together, including non- English speaking families. "Everyone cooks and everyone eats, no matter what language you speak, so we engaged the parents in the garden and the kitchen"(Noone, 2018). #UoNTeach #Communitybenefit #Progress

I wonder what creative ideas our students would come up with if you asked them to design a garden to go into their school. Children feel a sense of ownership when they are involved in designing, establishing and maintaining their gardens (Pollock, 2015). #UoNTeach #Creativeminds

"Global food demand is set to increase by at least 60 percent by 2050". We need to come up with innovative ways to produce our own food such as roof top gardens (Naidoo, 2018). What better way to encourage this than to get our students involved! #UoNTeach #SustainableFutures

Teaching our students how their recycled food waste and scraps can be turned into compost is a great way to encourage sustainable living. P.S they can also put into their communal vegie gardens at school. #Sustainableliving #UoNTeach
