TIPPING CULTURE IS TRASH It's a guilt trip designed by corpos to trick you into giving workers money for simply doing their job - a job they are criminally underpaid for - so they don't have to. Employers should pay a living wage. That's it.

@JesseCox I think this is a bit simplistic. Basically the idea is that a game like Elden Ring is worth $50 to some people, where as others would pay $500 (think Elon Musk). So what do you do? A lot of companies will say "microtransactions! DLC! deluxe editions!" Is that better?
@JesseCox @BrizzyVoices I live in Europe specifically Netherlands If i enyoy the food or come there more regularly i will most of the time make a 25 euro bill a 30 one because i like the people and the food Is that a bad thing or? Genuine question btw
@JesseCox You know they’d pocket it too, it wouldn’t even be seen by the devs 🙃
@JesseCox It isn't my responsibility to pay someone else's employees.
@JesseCox I don't mind tipping irl when something exceeds the quality you were expecting. Went to a steak house recently and everything was amazing so was gonna tip *but was already added to the bill as optional charge so didnt. But the fact in America it seems to be everything no.
@JesseCox As a non-american, I will never understand how people are "fine" with tipping culture... It's made its way in games too and it's sad to see. "We're underpaying our overworked devs so be sure to buy our dlcs at launch to help them!"
@JesseCox Agreed like we already pay for battle passes, subscriptions, and micro transactions. To me that is considered a “tip”.
@JesseCox I feel for you guys. In most countries that have tips, it’s treated as an optional bonus to reward exceptional service but the USA have twisted it into an excuse not to pay staff properly so they have to go begging for the rest they are owed from customers.
