A bill that was intended to protect access to contraceptives by making it unlawful for the state of Louisiana block access, has stalled due to an anti choice group, Louisiana Right to Life, lobbying against the bill. The anti choice group is arguing that the bill "could interfere with parents’ rights to limit children’s contraceptive access, or doctors’ rights to refuse to provide contraception", even though the bill specifically states the bill is regarding government intervention in accessing contraceptives.
@DoomScroling After reading that article the biggest question I have… Why in the hell does a charity foundation have such sway in congress in Louisiana?
@Jessica17768141 Right!? It's infuriating to see an anti choice group have to much sway in the legislature.
@Jessica17768141 @DoomScroling The state legislature is full of Democrats who are anti-choice. It’s crazy. The past Democratic governor was anti-choice.
@Jessica17768141 @DoomScroling They have been meeting with TN GOP legislators. We have leak audio of it. propublica.org/article/inside…
