One of my biggest concerns with Development Squads is mental fatigue. A former All-Ireland minor winner told me he now questions 5yrs of development squad & county minor training since the age of 13. Are we developing young players or burning them out before their adult careers begin?

Peter Brook often used incidental details to add interest to his work. In ‘On the Road - Drawing’ the bright red GIVE WAY sign catches the eye, creating a contrast with muted tones of the painting. Typically it’s not quite straight, like the telegraph poles along the road ahead.

@blowincat A big part of this is physical development. When it comes to 18/19yrs its a more level playing field a and fellas who dominated because they were bigger drift away. And of course a lot of development squads it's who you know rather than your ability.😉💥

@blowincat No seriously hurling needs Kilkenny to be good. Cork done the same for a long time living on past glories. It will get you nowhere.💥

Breathe, breathe in the air Don't be afraid to care Leave, but don't leave me Look around, choose your own ground Long you live and high you fly Smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry And all you touch and all you see Is all your life will ever be Run, rabbit, run Dig that hole, forget the sun When, at last, the work is done Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one Long you live and high you fly But only if you ride the tide Balanced on the biggest wave You race towards an early grave
