@GTTG31 @raunak_chaudhar People we meet in life aren’t the only measure of social conditions, my brother. Society is much bigger, and its problems far more intricate. Statistics and history are two sources you can rely on when devising policies for social change.
@GTTG31 @raunak_chaudhar It’s because his father earns the same as yours. The reform we discussed addresses this too. But statistics show that most people from those communities still remain outside institutions that can provide similar opportunities and access.
@GTTG31 @raunak_chaudhar Reservation is not a matter of belief. It’s a matter of equity and empowerment. If we live in an egalitarian society to begin with then your non belief in reservation can be taken with merit, but what we have is a shitty history and an inherited unequal society.
@siddocode Reservation should be reformed to cater to the poor among the reserved communities and must not be monopolised by the elite.

@GTTG31 @raunak_chaudhar That’s exactly the point even I raise. That’s exactly why strict implementation of creamy layer is needed. Reservation itself is a beneficial policy but its implementation needs to be reformed so the needy among the ostracised community get the benefits not the elite.
@GTTG31 @raunak_chaudhar No one gets penalised because of reservation. Either you can stay ignorant of historical discrimination and stay blind to current socio economic realities. Or appreciate affirmative action’s benefits and reform some errors in its implementation.
@GTTG31 @raunak_chaudhar Instead state should work on why no one from that community are unable to secure better rank than him. Or live happily in a world where you’ll declare an entire community to be dumb and be proud of yourself.
@GTTG31 @raunak_chaudhar If a person from a community who within his community stood at top to secure a job is unable to do basic maths that means education system is already broken not because of him but he’s a victim of that broken system. You can’t penalise him for the broken system.
