BREAKING: Donald Trump yanks hard on Elon Musk's leash and announces that the MAGA oligarch has no power to fire government departmental staff or unilaterally alter policy. The shadow president just got his first smackdown... During a meeting with his Cabinet, Trump made the announcement that the Secretaries, not Musk, are in charge of their departments. Politico reports that two administration officials revealed that Trump told the Cabinet that while Musk does have the power to make recommendations, he cannot make any unilateral decisions about terminations or policy changes. Musk was present for the meeting and stated that he would follow Trump's orders — as if he has any choice in the matter. The oligarch also admitted that DOGE has made some mistakes already, a gross understatement. Trump's announcement was clearly a result of the chaos and lack of clarity that has been ruling the administration in recent weeks as Musk's DOGE has implemented mass firings — devastating crucial departments and leaving them woefully understaffed. This marks the first time that Trump has put his foot down with Musk who has otherwise been running roughshod over the entire government, operating like a lawless unelected president. Trump himself addressed the meeting in a Truth Social post— "As the Secretaries learn about, and understand, the people working for the various Departments, they can be very precise as to who will remain, and who will go,” he wrote. "We say the ‘scalpel’ rather than the ‘hatchet.’ The combination of them, Elon, DOGE, and other great people will be able to do things at a historic level." Now, that DOGE's power has been severely curtailed it's time to go a step further. We must demand that the entire endeavor be dismantled. It's blatantly unconstitutional and flies directly in the face of the best interests of the American people.
