God asks us to love as He loves. So if He forgave us and even gave us back our position in His Life, then we ought to find the same strength to do the same for those who wronged us. Think about it.
This is common to parent-child relationships, you can't say you forgave your parent but you have never given them back their position in your life to be your parent again.
Forgiveness without reconciliation is not complete. Reconciliation is an outer expression of forgiveness. It is what confirms that you indeed forgave. It's like loving and giving. The latter confirms the former.
