One of the last Rax Roast Beef franchises in Lancaster, OH Rax was a regional Arby’s competitor that peaked at 504 restaurants across the Midwest in the 1980s. There are now around 10 left in Illinois, Ohio, and Indiana.
The sandwich here was definitely better than Arby’s imo. I know there’s a lot of Arby’s haters but if you like Arby’s you would enjoy a Rax.
@JoshLipnik What? where? A Rax still in Indiana? Closest to me is Joliet.
@JoshLipnik Rax is good shit. I grew up on the Uncle alligator meal.
@JoshLipnik Endangered species, need to protect and breed them in captivity.
@JoshLipnik Was part of their decline due to their sign looking more like something for an auto parts store than an eatery?
@JoshLipnik they had one in Oberlin when I was growing up. eating in the Rax atrium with my dad as the sun was going down is one of my favorite memories.
