A senior National Gender Service clinician has said the Dept of Education should stop circulating material to schools “that suggests schools should take a lead in socially transitioning”. independent.ie/irish-news/lan…
Dr Paul Moran told @Independent_ie that the author of #CassReview has ‘warned that socially transitioning — where a child begins to live publicly as the opposite to their biological sex — should involve the support of a clinician." Some Irish schools are socially transitioning children on advice from trans activist lobby groups. Belong To, an LGBTIQ+ lobby group produces training materials that instruct teachers to treat students in accordance with their gender identities, not their biological sex.
This treatment extends to the use of opposite sex bathrooms, changing rooms and overnight accommodation, as well as their participation in sports. This undermines safeguarding. They also advises to promote gender ideology throughout the curriculum, not just in SPHE classes.
The Countess calls on @NormaFoleyTD1 @Education_Ire to issue a circular advising all schools against participation in the Belong To Quality Mark and any programme that promotes social transition. Such initiatives must be resisted by all adults committed to upholding child safeguarding. We developed this pamphlet “Empowering Parents-Young People and Gender Identity”. With it, we aim to give parents, guardians, teachers and others who have a responsibility for young people vital information about this very important topic. thecountess.ie/empowering-par…
