As a American Native, I fully condone this fan's actions (red and black face). This is not cultural appropriation for harm, but honoring by motif. If we keep removing these references we will have eventually removed all memory. The Hunt family has long honored us. GO CHIEFS!

The Chiefs are named after Mayor Bartle whose nickname was "the Chief" (he was an honorary Arapaho tribe member). He was an immense advocate of faith, scouting, honoring natives and was an unbelievable philanthropist. Sad the way people have twisted race for gain.
@KCIronFan @bnice19831 Indigenous peoples/nations don’t need some white kid wearing a headdress to preserve their culture. They do a great job doing that on their own. It actually does a disservice, perpetuating a cartoonish version of what their culture actually is.
@KCIronFan I feel like even banning the head dresses at arrowhead seems more harmful than helpful but I hope we’re listening and ONLY listening to the native Americans on these issues
@KCIronFan Man I'm hoping this ain't you while you're calling yourself American Native
@KCIronFan This is the mindset society needs to take far more often. Everyone knows the kid’s intent and everyone knows it wasn’t malicious. Same people are the ones that get upset at Cinco de Mayo but not St. Patrick’s Day, ones that get upset for someone dressing up as Marvin the Martian
