The police video of Sonya Massey's murder is one of the most horrific things I've ever seen. She called 911 for help. Police arrived. She let them in. And they killed her. We must end qualified immunity. My deepest love & condolences to the Massey family.😓

🧵For the libs and journalists melting down that Katie Porter called her election “rigged.” She is absolutely right. You have just normalized the buying of elections by billionaires and Super Pacs as the normal democratic process…

She lost by 20 points, but is saying the election is rigged because she was out spent.

“Unsilenced: Elijah McClain’s Cry for Justice” In the shadowed cradle of night, under watchful celestial eyes,
A voice was silenced, a spirit caught, before its rightful rise.
Elijah, oh Elijah, your journey was not for naught,
In the hearts of many, your struggle, dearly fought. "I can't breathe," you whispered, beneath a sky so vast,
Your ID clutched in trembling hands, a lifeline to your past.
Elijah McClain, a name etched in the ether, a solemn, mournful cry,
A home within sight, yet so far, under that indifferent sky. An introvert's plea, a gentle soul's despair,
"I'm just different," a refrain, a silent, desperate prayer.
Apologies fell from your lips, a cascade of regret,
No harm in your heart, no threat, no debt. No weapon wielded, no malice borne,
A pacifist in a tempest, a rose among thorns.
"I don't even kill flies," a testament, a creed,
A life of nonviolence, a soul planted like a seed. Forgiveness sought, in a world so bleak,
Your love, a beacon, for the peace you did seek.
"I'm a mood Gemini," a flicker of light,
In the engulfing darkness of that tragic night. The pain, the struggle, a body confined,
A spirit yearning, for the peace it couldn't find.
"Teamwork makes the dream work," even as you cried,
A belief in unity, even as you died. Elijah, oh Elijah, your last breath a rallying call,
A reminder of the justice that must befall.
You were not forgotten, your spirit lives on,
In the march for justice, in the breaking dawn. In the echo of your words, a movement takes flight,
For every silenced voice, for every stolen night.
Elijah McClain, a name that will resound,
In the hearts of the many, where your spirit is found. A beacon of hope, in the struggle for what's right,
Your memory a guide, through the longest night.
We carry your story, a testament, a vow,
To fight for justice, in the here and now. Elijah, you should have never died, a truth we hold dear,
In your name, we rise, overcome by neither fear nor tear.
Your last words, a lament, a poignant, heartfelt song,
In the chorus of the just, where you truly belong. ©️MustaraSantiagoAli #Poetry #BlackHistory #BLM #RestInPower #ElijahMcClain #SayHisName

Extremely important video from @mehdirhasan ⬇️

As California’s next US Senator, I will continue to stand on principle—even if I’m standing alone. Just like I did then when I voted against the invasion of Afghanistan after 9/11. Just like I am now in calling for a permanent, unconditional ceasefire in Gaza.

Netanyahu has promised to invade Rafah even if there’s a temporary ceasefire. The trauma has led to children as young as five saying that they would prefer to die. They've been forced to eat animal feed and grass. Children in Gaza deserve to grow up. Palestinians deserve to live.

The next time orange racist f**k boasts that blacks love him ask him why he literally crucified the innocent Central Park 5. He has never admitted their innocence.

Congo is silently going through a silent genocide. Millions of people are being killed so that the western world can benefit from its natural resources. More than 60% of the world’s cobalt reserves are found in Congo, used in the production of smartphones. Western countries are providing financial military aid to invade regions filled with reserves and in the process millions are getting killed and millions homeless. Multinationals mining companies are enslaving people especially children to mine. #CongoIsBleeding

@iWriterGirl So true- I tell everyone I know! It's been a while but I read the book and I'm so excited to see this since I missed it as a play.

Oh my God. A student just called out a Moms for Liberty founder and school board member after it was revealed she had a threesome while slandering LGBTQ people for “sexual immorality.” x.com/LoneStarLeft/s…
