In the evolving world of Japanese Racing the JRA’s “Retired Racehorse Review” committee from 2017 has been upgraded to a new government funded operation for Thoroughbred Aftercare & Wellness. Most efforts have been private in the past so this should be a great help to the efforts
Glad to see the JRA continuing to grow and improve on issues like this. First the private sector improved and now the public follows suit. JRA has a lot of money that can do a lot of good. nikkansports.com/m/keiba/news/2…
@KeibaKate Once again, Japan demonstrates the proper way to manage the industry
@KeibaKate @sidgustafson Full marks for this initiative. I hope the aftercare operation is named after Ferdinand to remind everyone just how wrong things can go. (If you don't know of Ferdinand's fate, be kind to yourself & don't look it up.)
@KeibaKate That is great step forward. What about the retired broodmares?
@KeibaKate Great news. We’re very excited that Japan has an Old Friends. A tribute to their aftercare programs and a great life for more retired Thoroughbreds. Hope to see you sometime during the next few weeks
