I’m in favor of something along these lines, tho this does seem confusing. I prefer having the NBA Cup final count toward the standings as one win or even multiple extra wins.

@KevinOConnorNBA Yeah keep it simple. Win the IST and you win all tie breakers
@KevinOConnorNBA How is "team that goes farther in the NBA Cup" confusing?
@KevinOConnorNBA Why should teams be punished down the stretch if they lose early in the tournament, only to miss out on a real playoff spot because another team has more IST wins and sucked down the stretch? There should not be any advantage from IST to RS. Tiebreaker, sure.
@KevinOConnorNBA The prize money was already proven to be enough incentive for the players to care, why do we need to give even extra meaning to it where we’re now changing playoff tiebreakers???
@KevinOConnorNBA About time someone is mentioning this. The cup game should count towards the overall standings for the championship team. Losing team doesn’t get an extra lost.
@KevinOConnorNBA Or how about cup champion gets home court advantage throughout the playoffs however long they in
@KevinOConnorNBA A top 6 seed and all first round at home. The IST should also be played altogether during January with the Finals the week before the Super Bowl. All reg season games should matter to determine seeding for IST. Very simple fix to make it worthwhile
@KevinOConnorNBA How about just get rid of the NBA cup and all problems will be solved?
@KevinOConnorNBA You should be guaranteed a top 6 seeding in your conference to avoid play in
@KevinOConnorNBA Winner should be guaranteed at least 6th seed. Runner up should be guranteed play in spot. With Lakers and Pacers playing bad after tournament, teams are going to start not caring about NBA Cup without post season incentive
