@ProjectLiberal Having run many events like this, that is actually a really good deal. Give whoever organized that event a raise!

My strongest “vibes not evidence” belief is that remote work is a cancer that’s making (most) people miserable even though it seems better in the short term.

@RAAAAAAAAATH @BryceFrank40887 Sure, and any game with rng means you can get screwed. You wrote an incredibly long post about the "problems" with mana rng in magic, but didn't once mention the number one way people solve for that issue. Which makes me think you only have limited experience with mtg.

@RAAAAAAAAATH @BryceFrank40887 That if you build a deck in magic with proper land balance and ramp it's incredibly difficult to get mana screwed or flooded. In the hundreds of games I have played in the last few months I can think of maybe three times where not mana was a problem for me.

@gregorykennedy I don't know what the definition of "Small Local Business" is, but Art of Play has a decent national online retail operation. I see magic influencers sponsored by them all the time, and I have bought from them a few times over the years without knowing they had a store in NYC.

@gif_tannen @SonnyBunch I think there is a consensus on what good technical execution looks like, but that is still not "objective". Things like the low angles, camera movements, and blocking can be done well, but that is still just an optinion. I know someone who thinks every low angle shot looks gross

@gif_tannen @SonnyBunch I am struggling to think of what couple possibly be an "objective metric" when it comes to art and film. Like, literally the whole point of art is that it is subjective.

Harry is supposed to be a descendant of the 3rd brother, who when the time was right met death like an old friend and gave the cloak to his son, IE sacrificed himself to save his family.

This is more proof that my theory about Rowling always had planned to have Harry sacrifice himself, and not have some cop out way of bringing him back, but couldn't bring herself to do it.

Algo que siempre odié de Harry Potter es que las Reliquias de la Muerte no tengan una verdadera relevancia narrativa La unica que realmente importa es la Varita de Saúco y pa nada porque ya Voldemort la tiene asi sin mas

@SuperAggo @MillThat The number of R/M slots in the normal packs isn't changing, the only thing that different is that if the card in the current foil slot is C/U, it won't be foil anymore. And then with the addition of god packs, technically the expected value number of R/M has gone up very slightly

@SaffronOlive I'll do you one better, foils suck for cards you want to play, they curl and half the time don't look very good. I see it as a plus that they are getting rid of foils.

@AbeGreenwald This is such a lazy person's take on culture. There is so much new stuff being created, you just only focus on the stories like this and make it a self fulfilling proffecy that you never see any new art or culture.
