On Killer Mike, I never understand the "because we're not X years old" discussion for not knowing the culture/history. When I 14-24, I was at least cognisant of the generation before me. Just did the knowledge. ...and this was with a little less access to information/music.
If you don't know or don't want to listen to something, just say that. It's cool, I just don't understand pushing that energy towards anyone else for your ignorance.
@Kitana_Prime It straight ip isn’t a generation issue, it really comes down to who really knows hip hop. Us kids love RTJ and Killer Mike’s solo work is legendary
@Kitana_Prime I think it also comes from a generation that just doesn’t respect a lot of the artist that came before them… xxx came into the game saying Tupac was trash. Artist today ain’t giving enough flowers to the zigs
@Kitana_Prime I knew about Run DMC, NWA, Big, Pac, Wu, etc and I was born in 97 lol. I also had parents that both liked that music so maybe my circumstances are different?
@Kitana_Prime People saying “who is this guy” probably shouldn’t have opinions on hip hop and who should the Grammy for best rap album tbh. My two cents.
@Kitana_Prime Bro I'm with you hip hop as far as I know is the only genre of music that doesn't respect the generation that came before them it annoys me to no end how they have lack of knowledge of the artist that came before them
