How does blue light hinder your #sleep? Blue light suppresses the body's release of melatonin, a hormone that makes you feel drowsy. While this promotes wakefulness during the day, it becomes unhelpful at night when we're trying to sleep. #hormones #HealthTips
@KristenJakobitz Would you recommend turning off not just smart phone but entire room wifi during sleep? Thanks.
@KristenJakobitz @KristenJakobitz Spot on about blue light! In our Neurobit blog, we explore a related angle: the impact of evening social media use on sleep. @KristenJakobitz We don't hear much about the pineal gland, but it plays a part in sleep and the regulation thereof. Cell phones need to stay out of the bedroom. Good post Kristen.
@KristenJakobitz Our bodies are naturally programmed to respond to light and darkness and blue light can trick our brains into thinking it's daytime, even when it's time for bed. Good to know the science behind it!
